Hello friends,

Today’s card is the easiest card to make and there is minimal stamping involved. The stamped sentiment and the beautiful Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper (DSP) make this card easy to put together.  I love that all the Stampin’ Up! products coordinate so it really takes the guess work out of your card making session. All the packages of DSP list all the colors that coordinate with the images and patterns in the DSP.  My FAVORITE free Sale-A-Bration item is the Heal Your Heart Stamp Set.  It’s free when you place a $50 (before sales tax & shipping) order from any Stampin’ Up! current catalog.  Now is a great time to stock up on essentials like cardstock, ink pads, adhesive or envelopes to help you earn a free Sale-a-bration item.

Here’s a close up of the Heal your Heart stamp set.  Don’t you just all those sentiments?  This is one stamp set that will always remain in my craft stash.

Here’s the Hydrangea Hill DSP graphic as seen on the Stampin Up! website.

One of the sheets in the Hydrangea Hill DSP has a beautiful border of Hydrangeas along the top and bottom border which made it easy to just cut and use it as is. I then used my Stitched Rectangle dies to add a cute stitched border around the DSP.  I also used another favorite product, the Subtle Embossing folder to add some texture to my Rococo Rose cardstock card base and stamped the sentiment with a Rococo Rose ink.  See the scalloped ribbon around the front of the card? It’s the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon. I used my scissors to cut off the crumb cake linen center off of  the ribbon leaving me with just the Rococo Rose scallops to wrap around the card and tie a small knot. That was fast and easy!

Don’t have the Stitched Rectangle dies? No problem, I’ll include the card measurements after the Shopping List and you can use your paper cutter to the card layers.

I love Hydrangeas because they remind me of my maternal grandmother.  She always had these massive Hydrangea flowers growing in her front yard just like the ones in the Hydrangea Hill designer series paper. One year she told me she was going to change the color of the Hydrangea flowers by simply adding something to the soil they were growing in. I patiently waited for them to bloom the next Spring and was thrilled that they indeed were a different color that the year before.  Surely, my grandmother had magic fingers! (I was a very young girl.)  It was years later and well into adulthood that I learned that the hydrangea colors could be changed by changing the acidity of the soil. It was Science, not magic.  Sigh.  You can read more about “the magic” on how to do this here.

If you’re still reading thanks for joining me going down memory lane.  As always, I’m here if you need me to answer any of your questions..

Inky hugs,

KEEP IN THE LOOP
