I need to talk to you. The last few weeks have been tough on me. It’s all due to this horrific pandemic. I’ve gone to bed and have lost sleep wondering if I should continue to share cards/projects on my blog. I’m aware that many people have lost their jobs, some are working from home if they’re lucky, children are at home, people are struggling to maintain some sense of normalcy and people are sick and dying. So, from my heart – I don’t want to appear to be all about selling Stampin’ Up! products. I’m truly blessed that my husband and I do NOT depend on income from my small business sales.
THIS, my small business, is NOT essential monetarily, but it is my passion. It’s been my passion since the first day I walked into a small rubber stamp store called Carol’s Corner during my lunch hour back in 1992. I love making stuff so much that I want to share it with everyone and show everyone how easy it is and how much happiness it brings. Truth is, if I go a day without creativity I’m not a happy person, I get right down crabby. But today, something happened that has NEVER happened before – I RAN OUT OF WHITE CARDSTOCK! I looked in my secret stash and nothing, zip, zero, nada!!! You see, I’ve been making a ton of cards since we’ve been asked to shelter-in-place/stay home. I’ve been making cards for people in Assisting Living places, Nursing Homes, Policemen, Nurses, Doctors and cards for our local grocery store employees. I’ve mailed many, many cards and plan to mail many more. Have you heard the expression that “a card is just a hug with a fold in the middle?” Well, I’m a hugger and I can’t hug anyone right now. Seriously, the struggle is real for me.
I started this blog because I wanted to reach a world-wide audience without “being in your face.” I NEVER want you or anyone to feel you need to buy anything from me, that is NOT my intention. I want to share and if it inspires your creativity that brings me MUCH joy and fulfillment.
This turned out way more “wordy” than I intended. I just want you to know I’m here for you and I hope I can bring some creative escape from the problems in our world and inspire you. That is enough for me.
Oh and don’t worry about me, I ordered Stampin’ Up! white cardstock from myself today.
