Do you need a stamp set bundle that you can use for more than one season? The Color Your Seasons product suite fits the bill because the images and sentiments are versatile. I LOVE this bundle and will run a series for the next week showing just a few of the many cards and projects I used with this versatile bundle. Here’s my card #2:
I used the Gorgeous Grape cardstock as my cardbase and a scrap piece of Highland Heather cardstock to die cut a bow. Gorgeous Grape is a beautiful deep purple color. I colored in the main floral image with the NEW Watercolor Pencils – Assortment 2! Assortment 2 expands the current watercolor selection. The colors include: Balmy blue, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy. I simply colored the floral image and used my Aqua Painter brush to blend and liquify the colors. I love to watercolor, but you can use Stampin Write Markers, Blender Pens or any favorite medium you choose. Did you notice the light texture on the cardstock? That’s the Subtle Textures embossing folder. I stamped the greeting on a scrap of black cardstock with Versamark ink and then used the heat tool to heat emboss the White Embossing powder. Last step was to add a few clear rhinestones.
Tip #1: I used a black Stazon ink pad to stamp my image on thick Whisper White cardstock because I wanted to use my Aqua Painter water brush to blend the color pencils but if you’re just starting your adventures in watercolor I highly recommend you stamp on Shimmer Cardstock or Watercolor Paper. Stampin UP carries both products. If you use a lot of water on regular cardstock it most likely will buckle or warp. Ugh, not a good thing to happen.
Tip #2: Use the Stazon Ink pad to stamp your image because if you use a water based ink pad and use watercolor the inked image will bleed. Not a good thing.
You can get a better look by clicking: 0718_FLYER_COLORYOURSEASON_US to see everything you get when you purchase the bundle. I must warn you that this is a limited edition bundle and it’s while supplies last – once it sells out it’s gone forever. The Blended Seasons is really popular and it might sell out before the Aug 31 deadline so if you want it, better get it sooner than later.
