Today is a double Fri Yay Yay! Why you ask? We leave to go to Fort Worth, Texas to attend the annual Stampin’ Up! Convention, it’s called On Stage. On Stage is open to all Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and registration for the event opens in January and typically all slots are filled within the first 15 minutes. What? Yep, that’s how awesome it is. One of the fun things that we do there is swap cards. Here are a few of my swap cards.
Not the best picture since most of these cards are in their clear envelopes and captured the glare of of them, but I’m in a hurry to make more and get to packing for our trip! Sorry, not sorry.
What are swap cards and organized card swaps? Organized card swaps are typically organized by a person or organization and they set up rules that must be followed to participate. One of the swaps I’m in was organized by one of our team leaders. The rules stated that one had to use current Stampin’ Up! (SU) products and had to be 30 full A2 sized card and make 30 of the same card and placed in clear envelopes. I didn’t photograph those since they are packed away in my car. This means that 30 people signed up to participate in the card swap. The 30 cards are submitted to the card organizer and she ensures you receive 30 different cards (one from each of the 30 participants.) It’s great to see what others do and are a great source of inspiration.
Swap cards for On Stage are A2 card sized, but they are only the front of the card. Kind of like a postcard. It’s done this way to be able to make 4 card fronts with a standard 8.5″ X 11″ piece of cardstock instead of only 2 full sized cards. This way one is able to make more to share and is more cost effective. These can be all the same design or you can vary the design. I chose to vary the design because I have a TON of unused embellishments, like doilies, enamel dots, washi tape. Yikes!
