Today’s card is one most of card makers struggle with – Sympathy cards. There are 2 camps on this subject: camp #1 believes that it’s OK to make cards for every occasion EXCEPT sympathy. Camp #2 believes it’s especially personal and touching to make a sympathy card because it’s an act of love and caring. I’m with Camp #2. If you like to make cards you know that you are doing your best and you are thinking about the recipient. It truly is a thoughtful and caring act of love – making it with your own hands. OK, enough philosphy – come on it’s Spring Break! Here’s my Sympathy Card using the amazing Waterfront Stamp Set.
I’ve made 20 cards using the amazing Waterfront stamp set and I just can’t stop. These stamps are so easy to create different scenes – I love it. I especially like that I can stamp the images and then simply run my Aqua painter over the stamped images and it looks like watercolor. So much creativity and it’s only $17 (see it on page 48 in the 2018 Occasions catalog.) Don’t delay – get it today. That’s A LOT of creativity for under $20!

TIPS, TRICKS & REMINDERS:
- I used the Thick Whisper White cardstock to stamp my waterfront images since I planned to use my Aqua Painters. You can also use watercolor paper or Shimmer Card stock to prevent your paper from warping due to water.
- I used the Rose Wonder stamp set from the Annual Catalog. Have you seen all the great sentiments in this set? It’s a good one to have in your card making stash!
- I used my Stampin Up! ink pads but you can certainly use your Stampin Write markers to add color to your stamps. Did you know that? You can’t use the Stampin Up! Blends since those markers are alcohol based and the ink would dry before you stamped it. Besides, the Waterfront stamp set is made of photopolymer and alcohol is not good for them.
