Hi Stamping friends,

Today’s Valentine’s Day card is not your typical hearts and roses card but it’s still a Valentine’s Day card.  See the little Metallic Enamel heart by the “You warm my heart sentiment?”  BUT, this card can also be used anytime of the year.

Pink Sheltering Tree Card

When we first moved to Amarillo in April, we’d see these beautiful trees all over town with gorgeous pinkish – purplish flowers. We asked around and discovered that they were Texas Redbud trees.  I just had to have one of these magnificent trees in our front yard and my wonderful husband found one for our new home.  I can’t wait until Spring to see if it survived this record breaking drought.

I used the 2-step stamping technique to simulate the look of a Texas Redbud tree on my card.  Are you familiar with that technique?  It’s easy but gives you great results and depth.  To do the 2-step technique all you need to do is ink up your stamp and stamp on your paper and then without re-inking your stamp you stamp again.  It’s so fun and you get lovely results.

Here’s what you need to make your own non-traditional Valentine’s Day card:
